The international community must correct the misperception that developing countries were only recipients of aid and that assistance was merely in a monetary form.
Developing countries contributed substantial amounts of humanitarian relief, and the African Red Cross and Red Crescent societies played active roles in saving lives and livelihoods.

A. Membership Requirements: |

Membership is open to all African National Societies who are members in good standing with the Federation and who fulfill the following requirements:
- Participate in the audit in Transparency, Accountability and Gevernance conducted by SGS within 12 months of membership
- Attend the annual General Assembly
- Pay an annual membership fee of USD 500
